Our Music & Staff

Lakefield United Church

We are blessed with many musical people in our congregation who share their talents in:

OUR JUNIOR CHOIR – school-age children participate in our worship service every Sunday and delight us at Christmas and in the spring with extra-special musical presentations.

Junior Choir practices are at the church on Thursdays from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

OUR SENIOR CHOIR is a wonderful group of lovely voices who lead us as we sing hymns each Sunday and inspire us with beautiful anthems as well. Extra-special music is also shared at Christmas and Easter and on other special Sundays.

The Senior Choir practices at the church on Thursdays from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. from September to June. New voices are most welcome!

OUR BELL CHOIR was formed in September 2005. We have a beautiful solid brass 3-octave set of hand bells. Our bells are quiet for the time-being as we settle in with our new Music Director and get to know each other.

As of July 1, 2017 we are "between ministers" at Lakefield United Church.  We are moving through the process in search of a new minister.

Effective September 1, 2017 we are blessed to have Rev. Jim Feairs as our part-time supply minister until we complete the process of creating a Needs Assessment Report and have successfully searched and found a new minister!

Rev. Feairs’ office hours are Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

John Atkinson is our Church Caretaker and keeps our church building sparkling. His cheerful disposition adds to the sparkle and we are so fortunate to have him “taking care”. John and his wife Sandy live in Lakefield.

Carol Morrison is our Church Secretary and Treasurer. Her sunny nature and infectious laugh greet all who drop by the office or call up on the phone. Her efficiency and organizational talents keep the administration of the church running smoothly. Carol and husband Glen live in Woodview.

Office hours (652-3126) are 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, Monday to Friday.

We welcomed our Music Director, Vince Abrahamse on Easter Sunday, 2017.  Vince and family (wife Adrienne, and children Hannah, Jacob and Noah) are a wonderful addition to our church family.  Vince's amazing gift of music and dedication lifts us up every Sunday!  We are blessed to have him.

Many members of our church family participate in our Sunday worship by reading a Scripture Lesson or leading the congregation in the Responsive Psalm.

If you would like to be a Lay Reader and would like more information, you are invited to speak to the minister or call the church office (652-3126 weekday mornings).
